Saturday Morning Garage Sales

My Pink Saturday post is below this one.

This morning DH tapped me on the shoulder at 6:30 and said "Let's go to the Garage Sales." Last night I thought we had decided not to go because it was still a little cool outside so I guess he had a change of heart.

The first one I wanted to hit was in a small town not far from us. I'm leaving the city garage sales until the weather gets warmer and there's one on just about every block. The ad had advertised First Annual Garage Sale at a Senior Citizen Complex. My eyes lit up when I saw the ad because I was thinking Senior Citizens = Antiques. Boy was I wrong when we got there and saw that it was mostly their children or grandchildren having the garage sales and it was mostly toys and clothes. I did end up with two things - a Nintendo tape for 5 cents and this for $1

The lady's son (I assume that's who he was) was hosting her garage sale for her and I felt kind of bad for him because she didn't seem to be in a good mood if you know what I mean. He said it was because she woke up late.

The next garage sale was at another small town on down the road. I felt like I hit the jackpot of Christian wall art because she had two tables full of it. I ended up with all of this. . .

Our Lord and Savior was actually sitting on a table marked free.

This sweet kitty was 10 cents.

I paid $2.75 for all these crosses.

My total for today was $3.90 - not a bad day if I do say so myself.

Now I have enough crosses to start my wall of crosses. So far this is how it looks.

Love the crosses! And the pitcher and the crucifixation figurine is beautiful and the price for it was even more beautiful!! What a stunning Easter vignette you could put together using that figurine!

I went to my first yard sale of the season this week too. It was an indoor sale at a church. They had tons of stuff and such cheap prices! I had to talk myself out of so many good buys that I really didn't need. I did come home with a few "choice" items though. I plan to post a picture of my favorite find on my "Blue Monday" blog post. Thank you for sharing your thrifty finds with us today!

I'm still trying to get around to all the pink saturday participants, sugar! Yep, it definitely slows down the blog. Some women won't visit blogs with music. But you have to do what you feel comfortable with.

You did some great finds with your junkin', chick, especially that vase for $1.

xoxo,
Connie

Girl, look how much God loves you!! Wow, that is a lot of great stuff for hardly anything. Isn't it ironic...I hope it really hits you this Lent season that the gift of our Lord is free to all who would. Don't you wish all would? May he continue to bless your precious life. DeniseMarie

Great finds! I'm just giddy enjoying your catch of the day. Hubby couldn't possibly understand! LOL If "I" can't find it (didn't get to go yard saling this weekend) then I love seeing what others got!

Hi
Sorry I'm late~`you remind me of my grandaughter~`she hits the garage sales and estate sales like crazy and she dresses her children from the sales and those kids look like they stepped out of a magazine~`her house is the same way, it's just beautiful and it all comes from the sales~~good luck to you in your searches, I admire you girls that can find the good bargains.
